This magazine contains a beautiful THREE page article about Billie Holiday by someone who knew and loved her. "Billie was my constant love ... When she was on stage in the spotlight she was absolutely regal", Milt writes. Gabler met Billie in 1936 and went often to see her perform. He describes in detail the setting, time and place of Holiday's famous "Strange Fruit" masterpiece, among other milestones of her career. MAGAZINE CONDITION: This magazine is in good condition for its age. There is a label remnant and some wear on the cover and spine. Note the stain on the front cover on the "D" of Billie Holiday. The pages are clean and complete and the binding is tight.
